While we never made it to the first glacier on our agenda, due to too heavy an ice flow, I got my first look at dense blue ice and was wowed. I’d heard of it but never expected to see it this blue. Being awed by these blue ice bergs was only surpassed by seeing and hearing the glaciers.
The glacier in the last picture here was not the destination glacier we where looking for. I was just the first one I saw in route. The close we got to a glacier the more turquoise color the water got until it became creamy white due to the increase glacier silt deposited in the water. This makes the water close to glacier uninhabitable for fish.

As we move north the mood changes as the misty ocean confronts the mountains with no shores.

Leaving Vancouvor the water is very calm and the sky is clear.

Leaving the port city you of course see port activity.

We are back from our Alaska cruise. It was a great seven day trip shipping out of Vancouver, BC Canada. We boarded the Volendam, a Holland American cruise ship and spend the first and second day at sea. I'll suff this site some of the 1471 pictures I took while on the trip. Todays shots are of the port we departed from.

I don't know who's kitchen this is. It could have been his but if it was, it was modernized by the time I have any memories of it.

This is one of my favorites. My Sister has the painting and I took this photo back when Dad was still alive. I need to reshoot it. The left side is bad photography. I was using film and you didn't know what you had until you developed the picture. Now with ditital I can shoot and shoot until I get it right. Besides, I'm a much better photographer now than I was back then.

I believe this was the County Jail for Noblesville. I guess Grandpa liked the architecture of the building.

Since our ship is making port for the first time on this trip, I thought this Harbour picture was a good choice.

I'm told that my grandpa use to drive a wealthy kid from his home to his grandparents at the begining of Summer and walked back home after delivering him. On his trip home he would draw these sketches from places and things he saw.

Since I'm boarding a cruise ship today, I thought this drawing was appropriate.

This is a cover of "The Saturday Evening Post" that my grandpa did as a study. The washed out areas are my fault. I have plans to redo a lot of my early scanings and photo reproductions. Life goes on.

Self Self-Portrait

I'm on vacation for the next two weeks so I'm pre-posting drawings and paintings done by my Grandpa Dailey. Most of these photos came to me years ago from my Uncle Jim and I was new at storing pictures so the digital files have suffered over the years at my amateur hands, but I hope you will enjoy them and find them interesting as art work from the early twentieth century.

It is Friday and I'm off to Alaska next week so here is a picture of my Yard Art.

You got to wonder about women with advertising on their asses. (I've seen much more provocative presentations.) Is it so wrong to look at her ass when she makes it a billboard?

These young ladies are the two beauty queens from last years Lincoln County Fair. I just stumbled across this photo in my collection and thought it may just brighten your day.

From my big screen TV. I've experimented with taking pictures off images on my HDTV but haven't gotten really satisfying results. I'm not trying to steal commercial property, just curious as to how to best do this. I guess one could manipulate the image in a Photoshop and come up with something artistic, but I'm just playing around. I have tried a few football games and some science shows. The science shows have been more fun than the games. Go figure. LOL

Is he wishing he could live here forever? Probably not. Erin fell in love with big city life when he made a trip to New York City with his Youth Orchestra some years ago. But he did seem to appreciate the calm quiet countryside around his Dad's place. In case you haven’t noticed, I really did enjoy his visit and miss him greatly.

Happy 4th of July!!!!!

Happy Independence Day!!!! A time to celebrate living in the greatest and most wonderful country in the World in all of life's history. A time to remember our past and how we came to live here as well.

Not to be out done by yesterdays picture, here is Erin at Walmart enjoying the same charade. However, it is kind of scary how natural he looks with the gun in his hand in a Tennessee Walmart. LOL

This is my son's girlfriend who just had to take home a picture of her and guns sold in Walmart. Seems that's not something that happens in England. She is a 1st generation Brit and a Muslim and she drew quite a lot of attention from the proprietor of a Confederate memorabilia store that sells hate along with mis-information. But it seems the Europeans like the idea of "The Rebel". Seems to be a romantic thing. If only they knew the facade is covering a hate infested fear of diversity.

Henna is a wonderful girl, bright and inquisitive. I enjoyed her visit and hope our paths cross again.

It may look like a pennet store display but it's one of the walls of my favorite breakfast places in Fayetteville, The Chuckwagon, owned and run by my wife Emily's cousin Chris. I had to share that with my oldest.
